As a Senior Business Software Analyst at SOFTimpact, I worked with an amazing team of talented individuals. Although I continued to work on software projects, my duties also lay with the team. The main technologies we work with included Python, EmberJS, Java, jQuery, KendoUI and other technologies. As part of the daily work we also provided support to our customers and made sure they can operate with minimal disruptions.

PrimeTel is the second largest telecommunications provider in Cyprus. PrimeTel's main business is offering the home and business consumers triple play service (Telephony, Television, Internet). Furthermore, PrimeTel invests in various other programs including Research and Development. As a Research Analyst in the R&D department I had the chance to work on various European projects of software and telecommunications nature. Besides the involvement in the EU projects I also worked on internal projects and on PrimeTel's own in-house IPTV platform.

ThoughtWorks is a global IT consulting which specializes in delivering enterprise software and also provides consulting in the use of Agile methodologies. Through my career at ThoughtWorks I had the opportunity to:

  • Complete a six-week training course focusing on developing consulting and developer skills.
  • Work on client projects
  • Assist with some internal company projects.

Client projects:

  • Large company of luxury goods (6 weeks) - Delivering quality software to help the organization improve its efficiency and productivity. Main technologies used on the project: C# and .NET technologies.
  • Large automotive publications and advertising organization (11 months) - Deliver a new generation of the company's website that will serve as the technology platform for the future of the organization. Main technologies used on the project: Java, HTML/CSS, JavaScript/Ajax/jQuery, StringTemplate, SiteMesh, Ant, JUnit, Mockito, Webdriver, Selenium. Further to the technologies used on this project, the use of certain tools, such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, Subversion, Mingle, Cruise, Fatwire and Twist has added to my abilities to deliver quality software. Finally, this project proved a great experience for improving my consulting skills and my ability to work with different and new people, adapting quickly to change.
ECS Summer Student InternshipatUniversity of Southampton

Developed an ontology convergence tool, called MOCA, for the FREMA project of the LSL research group part of the ECS (Electronics and Computer Science) department internship. This tool is an extension to the MediaWiki software package and it essentially tries to assist and promote the use of the Semantic MediaWiki by providing an alternative interface to editing the semantics of a wiki page. Besides all the technical skills acquired, from wiki management and setup, to PHP, MySQL, JavaScript and AJAX; I also gained the experience of working as part of a research group and within the academic research environment. MOCA is also a contribution to the open source community (moca.sourceforge.net) in hope to promote the use of Semantic wikis.
